Lamplit is free, private, and built to respect you. These terms are straightforward — please read them.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Lamplit ("the App"), you agree to these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). This agreement is between you and the developer of Lamplit, and not with Apple Inc. The developer, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Lamplit is a free iOS reading tracker that allows you to log books, track reading sessions, set goals, discover new reads, and view your reading statistics. The App is provided free of charge with no in-app purchases, subscriptions, or paywalls.

3. Eligibility

You may use Lamplit at any age. The App does not require an account, does not collect personal information, and contains no user-generated content or social features that would pose age-related risks. Parents and guardians are welcome to review the App.

4. License

The developer grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Lamplit on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set forth in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. This license does not allow you to use the App on any device that you do not own or control, and you may not distribute or make the App available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices at the same time.

5. User Content & Data

All data you create in Lamplit — including your book library, reading sessions, notes, quotes, and statistics — belongs to you. This data is stored locally on your device and, if enabled, synced via your personal iCloud account.

We do not have access to your data, cannot view it, and do not process it in any way. You are solely responsible for backing up your data through iCloud or other means.

6. Intellectual Property

The Lamplit app, including its design, code, icons, animations, and branding, is the intellectual property of its developer. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works based on the App without prior written permission.

Book cover images and metadata displayed in the App are sourced from third-party databases (Open Library, Google Books) and remain the property of their respective owners.

In the event of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, the developer, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.

7. Affiliate Links

The App may contain affiliate links to Amazon, Apple Books, Bookshop.org, and similar services. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, Lamplit may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. These links redirect you to third-party websites governed by their own terms and conditions.

8. On-Device AI Features

Certain features of Lamplit use Apple's on-device machine learning models (available on iOS 26+). These features process data entirely on your device and do not transmit information externally. AI-generated suggestions (such as book recommendations or vibe-based search results) are provided as-is and may not always be accurate.

The developer is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services with respect to the App. You acknowledge that Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the App.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Lamplit is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all devices. Reading statistics, page counts, and AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies.

In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the App (if any) to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of Lamplit shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the App.

Total liability shall in no case exceed the amount actually paid by you for the App. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

13. Product Claims

You acknowledge that the developer, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims you or any third party may have relating to the App or your possession and/or use of the App, including but not limited to: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.

14. Third-Party Services

Lamplit integrates with or links to third-party services including Apple's iCloud, App Store, Open Library, Google Books API, Amazon, Apple Books, and Bookshop.org. Your use of these services is governed by their respective terms. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of third-party services.

15. App Store Terms

Lamplit is distributed through Apple's App Store. Your use is also subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. In case of conflict between these Terms and Apple's terms, Apple's terms shall prevail with respect to App Store-related matters.

16. Export Compliance

You represent and warrant that: (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a US Government embargo, or that has been designated by the US Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

17. Apple as Third-Party Beneficiary

You acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple's subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.

18. Modifications

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union and the Republic of Bulgaria, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of Bulgaria.

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full effect.
